Orlando Zane Hunter, Jr
Orlando Zane Hunter-Valentine is a choreographer who researches, illustrates, and creates from a same-gender-loving African-American U.S.-born perspective. A descendent of the great migration, and great-grandchild of farmers, my work tackles issues resulting from a capitalistic imperialist patriarchal white supremacist system. He has received a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Minnesota. Orlando is the founder of Brotherhood Dance. He works as a Hood Agroartupreneur encouraging dance and agriculture for embodied and ecological sustainability. Orlando is an MFA in Dance graduate, integrating Agriculture and Technology from The Ohio State University.
Ricarrdo Valentine
Ricarrdo Hunter-Valentine is a 2nd generation Black, Jamaican American/estadounidense, Same gender-loving certified Ohio Farmer, Dancer, and Photographer, who finds value in collaboration, individuality, and intimacy. I move and take photos from intuition. Ricarrdo’s photographic work has been exhibited at Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, Centro Universitario de las Artes (MX). He has presented his choreography at the Bates Dance Festival, Brooklyn Museum, El Museo de Barro LaGuardia Community College, and more. Ricarrdo continues to collaborate and work with Christal Brown/Inspirit, Edisa Weeks/Delirious Dance, Paloma McGregor, Dante Brown/Warehouse Dance, Malcolm Low/Formal Structure, Jill Sigman/Thinkdance, Ni'Ja Whitson-Adebanjo/NWA project, Andre Zachary/RPG, Emily Berry/B3W and Barak ade Soliel. Ricarrdo is also the co-founder of Brother(hood) Dance!, a 2023 Greater Columbus Arts Council Elevated Artist recipient. and the 2020 Bessies Honoree for Afro/Solo/Man. As a 2020-2021 NorthStar Art Incubator Fellow, he created an ethno-visual project, Where My People At?
